Seva & Charity

Service to pilgrims and the wider community has been part of the mandir's mission since its founding.

Alongside daily worship, Surya Mandir Borsad has long carried a spirit of seva (selfless service). The trust that runs the mandir was established as a public charitable trust in 1977, and today its work spans everything from temple rituals and pilgrim hospitality to food distribution, healthcare camps and disaster relief for the wider community.

Temple Seva

Free Meals for Pilgrims

The mandir offers free meals (annadaan) to visiting pilgrims, a practice consistently mentioned by visitors as one of the temple's most valued facilities.

Pilgrim Lodging

An on-site guest house with both AC and Non‑AC rooms provides budget accommodation for devotees travelling from out of town.

Yagyas & Kathas

The mandir hosts around 50 yagyas and 37 kathas each year, including recitations of the Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Surya Purana, Devi Bhagwat, Ganesh Purana, Brahma Purana, and a 21‑day Atirudra Mahayagya.

Community Festivals

Local community groups regularly organise charitable activities on temple grounds around festivals — for example, distributing refreshments to children during Gauri Vrat celebrations.

A Welcoming Space for Families

On-site parking and a children's play area, frequently praised in visitor reviews, help make the mandir an accessible, family-friendly place to spend time.

Community & Social Welfare

Beyond temple worship, the mandir trust runs a range of welfare programs for the wider Borsad community, regardless of faith.

Daily Food Distribution

Meals are distributed daily to poor and needy people in the community.

Medical Camps

Free medical camps are held to treat primary healthcare needs.

Dental Care Camps

Dedicated dental care camps provide checkups and treatment free of charge.

Disability Support Equipment

Mobility aids and other disability support equipment are distributed to those in need.

Books & School Supplies

Books and school supplies are distributed to needy and underprivileged children.
